On 5 May 2025, President Emmanuel Macron launched the “Choose Europe for Science” initiative from the amphitheatre of the Sorbonne university. The the aim of the event was to encourage public and private researchers as well as entrepreneurs to choose Europe as their home.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen was among the high-ranking attendees delivering a speech.
